Selected Studies: She wrote her Bachelor’s Thesis titled Novel Teaching and Analysis (2008), her Master’s Thesis titled Stylistics in Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe, Richardson’s Pamela and Sterne’s Tristram Shandy (2011) and her PhD Thesis titled Investigation of the Female Image in the Novels Lady Audley’s Secret by Mary Elizabeth Braddon, East Lynne by Ellen Price and The Tenant Of Wildfell Hall by Anne Brontë in the Context of French Feminism (2016). She wrote her dissertation titled “Addison and Steele: Educating the Nation Through Literature” (2011) and “A Transnational Outlook to Nadine Gordimer’s July’s People” (2014) in BAKEA: History in Western Literature edited by Prof. Dr. Zekiye Antakyalıoğlu. In addition, in 2020, in the book Current Language and Literature Studies, “A Stylistic Approach to Literary Translation: Prioritization in the Novel Tristram Shandy” was published in 2020. “Psychoanalytic Interpretation of Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre and Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights” (2016), “An Absurdist Play: Samuel Beckett’s Endgame” (2016), “The Lyric Art of Chaucer: Songs and Letters in Troilus and Criseyde” (2019) are some of her articles published in international refereed journals.

Research Interests: Translation Studies, Audiovisual Translation, Subtitling and Dubbing, Volunteer Translation, Film Studies, Cultural Studies, Localization, English Language Teaching, Assessment and Evaluation, Project-Based Learning, Collaborative Learning.
Selected Studies: (2021) During her master’s studies in Translation Studies at Universitat Rovira y Virgili, she prepared a project based on the constructivist approach and collaborative learning with Prof. Anthony Pym. (2016) Besides her articles published on the social cinema platform Fil’m Hafızası, where she voluntarily writes film reviews and interviews, she has two different chapters in the book 100 Unforgettable Characters in Turkish Cinema. She has subtitle and dubbing translations for various television channels and international film festivals under İKSV.
“Dubbed or Doubted! Culture-specific references and their translation strategies in the English dubbing of the Turkish TV series ‘Ethos’ (2022), ‘WHY?’ BEHIND THE VOLUNTEER SUBTITLING – Research on the Motivation of Turkish Volunteer Subtitle Translators ” (2022), ” The Best of Both Worlds: From Volunteer Subtitling to Professional Subtitling ” (2021) are some of her articles published in international refereed journals.

Research Interests: Applied linguistics, second language acquisition, language skills teaching, grammar teaching, vocabulary teaching and translation studies, teacher training, individual learning differences, the use of English as a lingua franca, internationalization in higher education, the use of English as a medium of instruction in higher education and factors affecting student achievement.
Selected Studies: He completed his doctoral dissertation on grammar teaching through input-based processing training and output-oriented training in second language learning (2015) and published his findings in TESL Canada (2017) and Boğaziçi University Faculty of Education journal (2020). She published her research article on “Difficulties experienced by undergraduate English-mediated language learners and the coping strategies they adopt” in the ELT Journal, Oxford University Press (2018).
His first co-authored book (monograph) on the role of individual learning differences in language teaching was published by Palgrave, Macmillan (2020) and is a reference book in more than a thousand university libraries. His book chapter on the use of English as a lingua franca and the good English teacher (2020) and his book chapter on learning English as an adult and the impact of age on language learning (2018) were published by Cambridge University Press. Another book chapter on strategies used by ELL students has been published by Springer, an internationally recognized publishing house.
Projects: 3501 career project was accepted by TUBITAK (2017).
Graduate Theses Supervised: He has been a second supervisor and/or jury member in more than ten doctoral theses at the University of Exeter, University of Bath and Yeditepe University, and has supervised twenty-seven master’s theses in total, two of which are in Turkey and twenty-five of which are abroad. He has also been a full-time PhD thesis supervisor and has graduated two PhD students who are experts in their field.

Research Interests: Sociology of Translation, Intertextuality Research in Translation, Sociological Intertextuality, Translation Theories, Medical Translation, Translation of Popular Literature, Transfer of Philosophical Elements in Translation, Translation of Technical Texts.
Selected Studies: Creativity in Translation: Analysis of Turkish Translations of Wordplays, Symbols and Codes in Dan Brown’s Books (2016). She introduced the concept of “sociological intertextuality” to the literature with her PhD Thesis titled ‘Sociological Intertextuality’ in the Turkish Translations of Tolkien’s Middle-Earth Novels (2019), which she conducted as part of Gazi University Translation and Cultural Studies PhD Program. In international academic books published by distinguished publishing houses such as Cambridge Scholars Publishing, she has published the article “Linguistic Turn and Translation Studies: Le Petit Prince and The Diary of a Young Girl” (2016) and “Gendered Language versus Genderless Language: Translational Challenges in Emma Donoghue’s Room”. She published “The Profession of Translation from Walter Benjamin’s Perspective and a Study on the Works of Stéphane Mallarmé” (2015), “L’étranger Strange to Its Translation: Critical Analysis of the Turkish Translation of L ‘étranger From Berman’s Perspective” (2017), “Intertextuality in Albert Camus’s philosophy: “let us imagine Sisyphus happy”” (2018), “Same Question – Different Answer: Unnecessary Emphasis of Ideological and Cultural Items in the Turkish Translation of the Kite Runner” (2018), “Medical Translations in the Light of Bourdieu’s Sociology: The Case of Covid-19” (2020) are some of her articles published in international refereed journals.
